The Demise of Western Pop Culture:
When Disney purchased Lucas Arts, they changed the fundamental nature of the narrative in Star Wars by removing the Hero’s Journey. This was the Vedic template that was given to George Lucas by Joseph Campbell, who was America's most pre-eminent philosopher.
It was the heart and soul linking the story to a deep under-current of archetypal forces that have been playing out throughout history. Come with us on “My Walkabout” as we dive into the real-life adventures of a rebel and heretic who embarked on his own Hero’s Journey.
The tradition of Walkabout is also a rite of passage. Not only does it mark the transition from childhood to adulthood, but also the transition from the ordinary waking state into the dreamtime, which is the higher energetic plane of experience above the physical.
Star wars was one of the greatest movies ever made. I saw it when I was only thirteen years old at a special screening before it was shown to the public. It profoundly affected me. A decade of Disney’s Star Wars has been like watching a train wreak in slow motion. I consider it a complete failure with the final nail in the coffin being the “Acolyte series” which is currently screening on Disney plus.
The real motive for trashing a multibillion-dollar franchise and the destruction of western pop culture icons is covered in chapter 3. Here we dive into the public documents that disclose the methodology behind these attacks as well as the dark forces that lie within the collective unconscious of humanity.
The template for this book is the Hero’s Journey. The chapters follow the cycles from the known world which we were all born into. The world of TV and sports, social media and movies. Ice cream and candy, beer and hotdogs. We then Cross over into the unknown, the fringe world outside of the box, beyond the ordinary and the accepted constructs of common reality.
Then we dive deeper into the abyss and the dark night of the soul, a place that most in the west fear to tread. A realm of primordial archetypes, of challenges and trials, revelations and transformations. Sadness, loss, pain and despair, shadows and demons. Then finally redemption and the return to the light. In truth, the Hero’s journey is a description for all of our lives, but few fully realise the totality of their journey, busying themselves instead with career and money.
Most sidestep the “crisis” that comes with leaving the safe and consoling world of our childhood and youth behind and fail to surrender and drift into the deeper land. Missing the opportunity to purge themselves of personal demons and shadows that need to be brought to the light and purified if we are to complete our journey and redeem ourselves. Then together we can address the collective shadow that hangs over our world. Only you can walk your walkabout, but we can do it together. I am happy to serve in this manner.
